Here at Leidos, we care deeply about the growth and development of our people. We are seeking an Elasticsearch Associate Engineer to support the team.

The GEOAxIS system provides Identity, Credential and Access Management for all web applications. GEOAxIS enables online, on-demand, access to NGA GEOINT content based on user’s authoritative attributes/roles. Our Mission is to maintain highly available ICAM services for protecting those critical mission applications across all security domains. The GxNext contract was awarded to Leidos in 2021 and runs until 2031.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in designing, developing, and deploying log analytics and infrastructure monitoring solutions using the Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Beats, and Kibana) to support an existing identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) system.
  2. Help deploy, configure, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade Elastic clusters and environments under the guidance of senior team members.
  3. Support the optimization of Elasticsearch infrastructure and configuration to maintain cluster health and search performance.
  4. Interface with other developers to integrate Elastic stack with existing ICAM baseline.
  5. Help resolve installation, infrastructure, data flow, and log ingest issues in both development and production environments.
  6. Perform daily administration tasks for Elasticsearch clusters and environments.
  7. Participate in an Agile environment by estimating features and user stories and contributing to sprint planning.
  8. Assist in the implementation of DevSecOps practices with automated CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in related discipline plus 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  2. Experience as a software developer, integrator, administrator, or similar technical role.
  3. Active Top Secret clearance.
  4. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  5. Must be DoD-8570/8140 level 2 compliant.
  6. Familiarity with deploying and managing Elasticsearch clusters and Kibana.
  7. Understanding of basic troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cluster health management for Elasticsearch environments.
  8. Ability to work well in a collaborative team setting and receive guidance from senior engineers.
  9. Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and grow within the field.

Preferred:

  1. Elastic Certified Engineer.
  2. Experience with container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  3. Exposure to working in a production environment with uptime and availability requirements.
  4. Basic understanding or exposure to identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) technologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
