Oversees all aspects of field construction for electrical, instrument and control disciplines, typically, Cable Pulling, Electrical & Instrument equipment installation, Cable termination & testing, Instrument calibration and modifications to electrical and control equipment. Actively manages contractors through the mechanical completions phase of the works. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables.
Responsible for management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company’s operating policies and principles.
Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project.
Manages and controls project schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on-site construction.
Management of installation and completion activities.
Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan.
Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to contractor company workers engaged within their area(s) of control.
Ensure all contractor company workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions.
Ensure all contractor companies initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Project requirements.
Manage and control project schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on-site construction effectively.
Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract document specifications and in accordance with Wood Policies & Procedures.
Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required.
Work with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Coordinates and supervises operational delivery of a small to moderate sized team of contractor company site construction personnel.
PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications:
Typically minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
VCA VOL qualified for occupational Safety, Health and Environment Management.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry.
Fluent English and French knowledge.
Broad experience from completion and use of completion systems.
Minimum 5 years of experience from completion/system testing.
