Job Description:

INED’s mission is to conduct research on various demographic issues (fertility and family, health and mortality, migration, etc.) and to inform the public and research community about trends and developments. The Institute employs approximately 250 staff, including permanent, contract, and doctoral researchers, and collaborates with national and international research networks.

The Publications Department, comprising 11 team members, manages the publishing of books, journals, newsletters, and online content. It works closely with management and editorial committees to define editorial and commercial policies.

The department's responsibilities include:

1. Publishing and marketing books, journals, newsletters, and online publications.
2. Distributing publications through bookstores, institutions, libraries, and digital platforms.
3. Implementing the editorial programme by producing printed and digital publications.
4. Collaborating with editors-in-chief, graphic designers, and other staff.
5. Editing English versions of journals and books, ensuring quality and consistency.
6. Preparing content for digital publications using XML-TEI workflows.
7. Representing INED Publications at events and monitoring publication dissemination.
8. Maintaining and updating related websites and online platforms.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Knowledge of social science research standards and content structuring techniques.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong command of translation techniques and terminology.
• Proficiency in software such as Word, InDesign, and XML-TEI language in Métopes.
• Understanding of standards and procedures for scientific publications.

This is a 36-month fixed-term contract or secondment, full-time (37 hours 55 minutes per week), including benefits like 32 days of annual leave and 10 days RTT. Options for remote work and travel expenses are also available.
