The Role

The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration is recruiting a Counsel to lead its case management team, primarily handling cases related to Germany, Austria, and other European countries. The position is based at the ICC Headquarters in Paris.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team handling a significant volume of arbitration cases daily.
  • Provide neutral procedural advice to arbitrators and parties.
  • Correspond with parties and arbitrators regarding case administration.
  • Review draft arbitral awards and present them for Court scrutiny.
  • Prepare and review memoranda for Court decisions.
  • Participate in Court sessions and review case documents.
  • Contribute articles for publication and represent the Secretariat at seminars.
  • Perform special tasks as assigned by senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of experience in international arbitration.
  • Legal qualification (e.g., Bar exam) is advantageous but not mandatory if experience is sufficient.
  • Bar qualification in Germany or Austria is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and German, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
