The Global Packaging Sustainability Lead at Royal Canin will play a crucial role in developing and executing sustainable packaging strategies, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals, business needs, and regulatory requirements. The role involves creating strategies, providing technical leadership, collaborating across departments, ensuring compliance, and promoting innovation in sustainable packaging.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Materials Science, Packaging Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainable packaging or related roles.
• Deep understanding of sustainable packaging principles, industry trends, and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, recycling, and circular economy principles.
• Proven success in implementing sustainable packaging initiatives.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder influence skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for sustainability and its impact on the planet, people, and pets.
• Experience in social/humanitarian fields is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development & Planning: Develop and implement global packaging sustainability strategies, set objectives, and monitor industry trends.
• Technical Leadership: Guide material selection, adopt innovative technologies, and oversee lifecycle analyses.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, Demand, Commercial, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams; collaborate with suppliers.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to regulations, review sustainability goals, and report on initiatives and performance.
• Innovation & Improvement: Foster innovation, lead sustainability projects, and promote continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate sustainability efforts, provide training, and engage with leadership and external stakeholders.
