About EIT RawMaterials

As the world moves towards a greener future, the demand for raw materials—minerals and metals—is set to increase immensely over the next three decades. Europe faces a critical challenge in securing a stable supply of these essential resources. This challenge is where EIT RawMaterials steps in.

EIT RawMaterials is at the forefront of driving innovation and sustainability in the raw materials sector. As an Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), we collaborate with over 300 partners across industry, academia, and research institutes. Together, we forge dynamic, long-term partnerships to develop innovative solutions that meet Europe's growing demand for raw materials.

We are looking for an Education & Communications Specialist to join our EIT Community Girls Go Circular team. This role is ideal for someone who can combine strategic communications and brand building with creative event planning—helping us bring our online learning content to life for students and teachers across Europe.

About Girls Go Circular

Girls Go Circular is an EIT Community education programme led by EIT RawMaterials, aimed at equipping schoolgirls (14–19 years old) with digital, entrepreneurial, and green skills through an online challenge-based learning platform and hands-on activities such as hackathons, competitions, and school projects. With more than 140,000 registered users and over 90,000 young learners already empowered, the programme is expanding further under the Union of Skills.

We seek a creative professional to help scale the impact of Girls Go Circular by building its brand, telling its stories, and engaging students and teachers in inspiring ways.

Your key responsibilities

Communications & Storytelling

  • Lead the narrative of Girls Go Circular, crafting engaging stories and campaigns that resonate with young people and teachers.
  • Translate impact into compelling content (videos, articles, social media, toolkits).
  • Manage and coordinate external communications agencies to deliver high-quality campaigns.

Brand Building & Marketing

  • Strengthen the Girls Go Circular brand across Europe.
  • Design and execute strategic marketing initiatives (campaigns, newsletters, partnerships) to expand reach and visibility.

Creative Learning Integration

  • Develop new ways to combine existing online modules with live or digital activities to make learning more engaging.
  • Experiment with creative formats such as competitions, gamified challenges, or blended events.

Event Design & Coordination

  • Plan and deliver both online and in-person events (hackathons, teacher training, student competitions, community-building sessions).
  • Work with schools, educators, and partners to ensure events are inclusive, impactful, and memorable.
  • Support growth of the programme’s community through targeted outreach and engagement activities.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or education engagement (experience in youth-focused initiatives is a plus).
  • Proven ability to design and deliver communications campaigns (with or without agencies).
  • Strong storytelling skills, with experience in content creation (written, visual, or video).
  • Event planning experience (online and in-person), ideally for youth or education audiences.
  • A creative mindset: the ability to turn digital content into engaging formats and experiences.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (other European languages are an advantage).
  • Based in the EU, with flexibility to travel occasionally for events.
  • This position involves around 15% travel throughout the year.

What we offer

  • An opportunity to shape a programme that is changing how young people in Europe engage with STEM and sustainability.
  • A dynamic, international team environment.
  • Creative freedom to propose and test new ideas. A role with real impact, working directly at the intersection of education, communications, and innovation.
