Job Description

This position is within the Architecture team of the Intelligent Edge organization at Schneider Digital, supporting innovation and platforming programs for Schneider Electric's Business Units and Lines of Business on their Industrial IoT offers.

EdgeOS Server is a strategic technology disrupting within the Intelligent Edge platforms. It enables a "Software Defined" approach at the Edge level, simplifying the design, commissioning, maintenance, and evolution of customer OT systems.

A server-grade product based on EdgeOS Server can utilize virtualization to deploy real-time and best-effort workloads in parallel, using virtual machines and containers as appropriate for the use case.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Providing architecture guidelines, identifying technical solutions, and writing technical requirements for the EdgeOS Server platform.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts in the Intelligent Edge anticipation team to leverage insights from the "Software Defined Edge Control (SDEC)" program.
• Working with various client programs within the Energy Management business unit to define end-to-end architecture and select suitable technologies for integration.
• Coordinating with POs and Architects of Edge System Management and EdgeOS MPU platforms to ensure virtualization technology is properly integrated, deployed, and monitored locally and remotely, on-premise or in the cloud.

Your profile:

• Graduate or Post-graduate degree in computer science and system engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in complex industrial systems with real-time and/or safety constraints.
• Excellent knowledge of embedded software development (RTOS, Linux).
• Strong expertise in Linux hypervisors and virtualization (KVM).
• Knowledge of system engineering best practices, components used in digital platforms, and processor architectures.
• Proficiency in C/C++ development and networking.
• Experience in industrial cyber security standards (e.g., IEC 62443) is a plus.
• Experience in creating and evaluating reference architectures.
• Knowledge of industrial standards like IEC 61850 and OPC UA.

• Enthusiasm for learning and adopting new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to motivate, build consensus, and drive change with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English.
