S&P Global Ratings is seeking an Economist to contribute to AI‑assisted macroeconomic scenario tools in the EMEA region. You will design econometric models, translate findings into actionable outputs, and collaborate with teams across Frankfurt, London, and Paris.

The role requires a Master’s in Economics or related field and 2–4 years of applied economics experience, with strong Python/R and ML exposure. English proficiency is essential; German or French is a plus. Office presence expected.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in applied economics, macroeconomic modelling, or econometric analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for econometric modelling and large dataset processing.
  • Experience using AI or machine learning tools (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow) in a research context.
  • Business‑proficient English (written and spoken).

What We're Looking For
Basic (Required) Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in applied economics, macroeconomic modelling, or econometric analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Python or R for econometric modelling and large dataset processing.
  • AI Application: Proven use of AI or machine learning tools (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or equivalent Python‑based ML libraries) in an economics or research context.
  • Language: Business‑proficient English (written and spoken) required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Domain Experience: Prior experience building or contributing to macroeconomic scenario frameworks or forecasting models.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with structured macroeconomic databases (e.g., IMF, World Bank, ECB datasets).
  • AI Tools: Hands‑on experience integrating large language models (LLMs) or generative AI APIs into analytical workflows.
  • Language: Business‑proficient German or French (written and spoken).
  • Collaboration: Experience working in cross‑regional or globally distributed research teams.
  • Communication: Track record of presenting quantitative findings to senior stakeholders or in published research.
Additional Information
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in‑person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week
