    Job Responsibilities
    • Support management in setting strategic directions for IEAs work on Renewable Energy Technologies and Innovation, working with the Head of RED and senior colleagues.
    • Lead the delivery of high-quality analysis and work outputs supporting government policies in renewable energy and clean energy transitions.
    • Manage a team of renewable energy analysts, providing leadership and shaping the work programme.
    • Collaborate across IEA divisions and lead relevant cross-agency working groups, including under the Clean Energy Transitions Programme.
    • Guide and coach junior analysts, secondees, and external consultants to ensure effective teamwork and cooperation.
    • Coordinate with senior analysts and the Unit Head of System Integration of Renewables.
    • Assist the Head of Division with planning, fundraising, managing, and reporting on programme scope, delivery, and budget.
    Research and Analysis
    • Lead the programme of work on renewable energy technologies, assessing their status, costs, prospects, and potential across various sectors.
    • Analyze the role of emerging renewable energy technologies in energy transitions, focusing on decarbonization, energy access, affordability, and security.
    • Develop best practices and policy recommendations for the deployment of renewable technologies across different country contexts.
    • Ensure timely delivery of analyses, publications, and events with strategic and policy-relevant messaging.
    • Contribute to relevant IEA publications on renewable energy technologies.
    Liaison and Outreach
    • Develop and strengthen IEAs global relationships on renewable energy technologies, enhancing its international profile.
    • Collaborate with the Energy Technology Network and Technology Collaboration Programmes.
    • Represent the Renewable Energy Division at IEA committee meetings and serve as a focal point for leadership and collaboration within the Agency.

    • Promote the work of the Agency externally and participate in high-level international events.
    Qualifications and Candidate Profile

    Academic Background: Preferably an advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, statistics, economics, or related fields.

    Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years working on renewable energy or clean energy systems, with policy experience in government or industry. Experience in renewables in emerging economies and in high-quality analysis and publications is desirable. Leadership and programme management experience, including fundraising, planning, and reporting, are essential.

    Languages: Excellent command of English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.

    Additional Information
