Position Overview:


The Assistant Buyer/Planner is responsible for ERP system parameter maintenance, auditing and preparing shop paperwork, and inputting and manipulating data from a variety of Supply Chain inputs. In addition, this position supports Buyers and Planners with inventory control tasks, purchased part orders, and fabrication/subassembly orders. Secondary responsibilities include project support on safety and continuous improvement initiatives in the Operations departments, and contributions to ERP upgrades and enhancements. Primary key metrics are on time shipments to customers, and inventory levels of raw materials, purchased parts, and subcomponents.




What You'll Do:



  • Frequent ERP transactions including but not limited to:





    • Work order moves to Fabrication or Production

    • Reconciling fabrication variances / bad bins / closing WO audit

    • Initial new item setups

    • Process vendor acknowledgements

    • Follow up on delinquent vendor acknowledgements

    • Follow up on delinquent and expedite PO statuses

    • Parts order backlog management

    • Load and/or revise quotations

    • Review MRP reports and respond to action messages





  • Prepare and distribute Production packets

  • Prepare and file new Fabrication colored packets

  • Distribute line charts and retrieve paperwork from plant

  • File Sales acknowledgements

  • Attend morning production meeting to review promised ship dates with Customer Service. Provide critical component availability to meet commitments to customers

  • Provide additional support with daily Buyer and Planner tasks as needed

  • Participate on project teams to support safety and continuous improvement initiatives, and/or contributions to ERP enhancements

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • 2-3 years of manufacturing and/or supply chain experience preferred

  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred





Working Conditions: The Assistant Buyer/Planner primarily works in an office environment, however, may occasionally be required to perform duties in a manufacturing and/or warehouse setting.
