Reporting to the Commissioning Manager and based remotely in the UK with approx. 90 travel the Substation Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring all site testing commissioning and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health Safety and Quality and in a manner that safeguards the Environment.

This includes maintaining compliance with GE Grid and their clients policies and procedures in addition to UK and international regulation.

Job Description

Location : Remote able to travel significantly to sites across UK & Europe (approx. 90 travel)

Summary :

• Ensure all site commissioning and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health Safety and Quality and in a manner that safeguards the environment.
• Ensure that all site commissioning activities are undertaken in full compliance with GE Grid and client policies and procedures in addition to the UK and international legislation.
• Test commission and service installed primary and secondary equipment during construction and inservice substation operations.
• Effectively execute projects in line with client and GE expectations programmes and budgets.
• Ensure accurate onsite test records reports and quality documentation are created maintained and circulated in accordance with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.
• Effectively work alongside other assigned staff as part of a team to successfully deliver projects.
• Travel throughout UK and globally as and when required. Estimated 90 travel requirements.
• Able to work on offshore windfarms.
• Full UK / EU driving license required. A company car will be provided.
• Effective and efficient testing and commissioning of substation equipment ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the preset time scales and budgets.
• of daytoday commissioning activities to successfully achieve on time delivery of assigned projects.
• Responsible for the preparation creation and issue of site documentation including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) NCRs (Nonconformance Report) TQs (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
• Communicating site noncompliances and or deviations to the Site Manager & Project Engineer.
• Reports to the Site Manager / Project Manager and Commissioning Manager.
• Enacting the role of LV Authorised Person in accordance with requirements of the GE LV Safe System of Work (LVSSOW) procedures.
