Description

Hitachi Rail France is strengthening its team and is recruiting a Signaling Systems Design Officer (H/F) on a permanent contract for its site in Les Ulis (91) – headquarters.

About us:

Hitachi Rail is a global provider of integrated rail transport solutions. We develop innovative and sustainable solutions in rolling stock, signaling, operations, service, maintenance, digital technology, and turnkey systems.

We are present in 38 countries with 14,000 employees worldwide.

In France, Hitachi Rail has been present for over a century and currently employs more than 600 people across three sites:

  • Les Ulis (Île-de-France): support functions, engineering, development, and project management
  • Riom (Auvergne): manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and validation site
  • Paris (Champs Élysées): 24/7 maintenance team for part of the RATP metro and tram networks

Joining Hitachi Rail France means being part of the global CBTC development center for the Group. We are involved in numerous CBTC projects worldwide, including in China (Shenyang), Taiwan (Taipei), Denmark (Copenhagen), Peru (Lima), the UK (Glasgow), and Belgium (Brussels). We are the sole signaling system provider for French high-speed lines (LGV), working on projects like Le Mans-Rennes, Tours-Bordeaux, and Paris-Strasbourg. We also modernize French conventional lines and develop cutting-edge metro signaling technologies based on radio communication (CBTC).

At Hitachi Rail, you will contribute to building a more sustainable and connected world. Engaged in international projects and working within multicultural teams, your work will be at the forefront of digital transformation and technological innovation.

Position overview:

As a Signaling Systems Design Officer, you will join the "Technology CBTC Solution Roadmap" team, responsible for defining Hitachi’s CBTC solution for metro signaling projects worldwide. You will act as the interface between the generic CBTC solution and project-specific applications.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Verifying the compliance of the design with project requirements, industry standards, guidelines, and company processes, with validation from relevant teams
  • Clarifying project deviations to be addressed by the generic CBTC solution and guiding principles/documents
  • Reviewing solutions proposed by subsystem teams (ATS, Interlocking, ATP/ATO)
  • Drafting requirements and specifications for the generic CBTC solution and subsystems, including interface specifications and technical analyses
  • Participating in verification activities of submitted documents according to verification and validation plans
  • Supporting projects in using the generic CBTC solution
  • Occasionally attending technical meetings and site tests with clients
  • Participating in technical reviews and addressing errors and anomalies
  • Coordinating and reporting activities related to design, implementation, testing, and certification of solutions
  • Ensuring budget alignment with change requests
  • Synchronizing activities across subsystems and aligning project needs with the roadmap

Work modalities:

  • Full-time position
  • Partial remote work possible (up to two days)
  • Occasional international travel

Location:

  • At Parc d’activités de Courtabœuf
  • Accessible by car via A10/A11 and N118, or bus n°22 from Massy Palaiseau RER station (RER B and C)

Your profile:

With a Bac+5 degree, you are an engineer or university graduate, or have equivalent knowledge/experience. The role requires:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in complex systems involving IT and electronics
  • Knowledge of signaling system architecture and interface operation
  • Experience with configuration management (document and software), and safety data verification (SIL4)
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)

  • Ability to represent complex system architecture and operation
  • Project management skills, including budget and schedule oversight

  • Curiosity and autonomy
  • Proficiency in French and English (technical and conversational)

Even if you do not meet all criteria, we encourage you to apply! We value interesting profiles that may differ slightly from the ideal.
