Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified corporate lawyer under French law to join our team (Purchasing legal team). The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience, possibly in a legal department of multinational companies or in international law firms, with a strong focus on procurement, supply chain, and related contracts and litigation (experience in consumer law and ICT is a plus).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide legal advice to management, ensuring compliance with laws and protecting the company, while balancing business needs.
  2. Draft and negotiate cross-border contracts with suppliers, focusing on automotive components/products supply, ensuring intellectual property rights and product safety are protected, along with service contracts, dispute settlement, logistics, and transport contracts.
  3. Offer legal opinions on contract law, mainly under French laws and EU directives.
  4. Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams on legal issues related to supplier relationships and contractual obligations.
  5. Manage French litigation with suppliers regarding breaches of contract, safety, and quality issues.
  6. Handle issues with troubled suppliers, including insolvency and bankruptcy procedures.
  7. Consider technology licensing and ICT agreements as a plus.
Qualifications
  • Qualified French Attorney at Law with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the relevant fields, preferably with automotive industry knowledge.
  • Fluent in French and English; knowledge of German and/or Italian is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, provide strategic legal advice, and manage complex legal matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong negotiation skills and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in an international corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions, legal issues, and regulations, especially in procurement and industrial sectors.
