KR Recruitment is delighted to assist our client, a prestigious reinsurance brokerage firm, in their search for a Senior Compliance officer to join their offices in Luxembourg or Paris.
This role supports the compliance function across multiple European jurisdictions, ensuring that offices in countries such as Luxembourg, France, Germany, and Italy maintain regulatory systems and controls aligned with relevant laws and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the execution of the European compliance program and support the implementation of regulatory frameworks.
- Track and interpret regulatory changes impacting the region, ensuring timely updates and alignment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks.
- Act as a point of contact for regulatory guidance and provide timely, practical advice to business stakeholders.
- Ensure regulatory reporting and filings are accurate and submitted on schedule.
- Participate in ongoing compliance monitoring activities to detect and address emerging risks.
- Coordinate responses to audits, reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
- Support the design and delivery of compliance training, including onboarding sessions for new staff.
- Help cultivate a strong culture of regulatory awareness and integrity across the business.
- Manage Fit & Proper assessments and oversee compliance with training and competency frameworks.
- Assist with policy development, ensuring alignment with EU regulatory requirements for insurance distribution.
- Maintain and review internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing suitability and effectiveness.
- Provide support to senior compliance management on a range of strategic and ad-hoc projects.
- Ensure consistent application of compliance policies across regional offices.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience interpreting and applying European insurance regulations, including the Insurance Distribution Directive and related regulatory frameworks.
- Solid understanding of regulatory environments across various EU jurisdictions.
- Background in financial services or insurance, preferably with compliance, legal, or risk responsibilities.
- Familiarity with insurance products, services, and operational principles is preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Finance, Risk, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certification in compliance, risk, or insurance is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a compliance, legal, or risk function within financial services or insurance.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, German, or Italian is an asset.
