We are seeking an experienced Data Architect / Data Engineer to drive the digital transformation of our Energy & Utilities customers through innovative cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in data architecture with experience across the power value chain from generation assets and energy storage to power trading and retail operations. As part of the AWS Energy ProServe team you will leverage data platforms IoT and AI / ML to support the full electricity value chain. You will focus on modeling and optimizing Power and Grid resources including utilityscale renewables substations DERs EV chargers and smart meters. Critical to this role is your ability to lead use case discovery workshops facilitate requirements gathering and translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions. Working closely with Customers Line of Business Digital and IT leaders you will drive the discovery and prioritization of highvalue use cases design scalable data architectures and ensure successful implementation of complex solutions. As a trusted technical advisor you will provide architectural oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle making key technical decisions that help customers accelerate their energy transition while maintaining operational excellence through datadriven insights and automation.

Key job responsibilities

As an experienced technology professional you will be responsible for :

Lead technical discovery and architecture definition during delivery including use case workshops with customers and partners requirements gathering and translation of complex business needs into actionable technical solutions that align with customer objectives and AWS best practices

Design and implement enterprisescale data architectures that support critical power industry workflows for our AWS customers from asset management and grid operations to energy trading and retail operations leveraging AWS services to address unique energy sector challenges

Guide the implementation of modern data platforms (data mesh / lake architectures) that integrate diverse energy sector data sources (SCADA ERP market data IoT sensors) ensuring compliance with industry standards (IEC 61850 CIM OCPP) and security requirements

Leverage and customize AWS Modern Data Strategy frameworks operating models and delivery accelerators to expedite customer outcomes including proven workshop formats resource models and reusable components for data marketplace implementation

Work handson with AWS services across AI / ML IoT Analytics and Security to build innovative solutions for energy sector challenges such as demand forecasting grid optimization and renewable integration

Adapt and implement reusable architectural patterns governance frameworks and technical accelerators for energy sector data platforms within your project scope

Document successful implementation patterns technical solutions and lessons learned from your deliveries to contribute to the AWS Energy practices solution portfolio

Partner with customers to create and execute data strategies that enable their energy transition journey building deep relationships with customer business and technical stakeholders and our delivery partners

Collaborate with delivery managers solution architects and AWS partners to ensure successful implementation of complex data solutions

Partner with ProServe Sales and Energy Industry teams to shape future power sector roadmaps and accelerate customer innovation focusing on key transformation areas such as renewable asset optimization grid digitalization power trading platforms and retail customer experience driving business value through cloud adoption.

5 years experience in data architecture and cloud platforms with ETL / ELT expertise

Demonstrated experience in the power sector value chain through either assetside experience (renewables conventional power batteries) or Trading / retailside experience (power trading PPAs B2B / B2C offerings)

Experience leading complex data transformation initiatives including requirements gathering solution design and implementation

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

Fluency in French and English

Advanced AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional Data Analytics Specialty) or equivalent handson experience

Deep experience with AWS analytics services (e.g. Redshift EMR Lake Formation Glue Kinesis) modern data stack technologies (Spark Kafka Python SQL) and production AI / ML implementations

Track record of leading largescale >

5M) data platform implementations in complex regulated environments

Experience with energy industry standards and protocols (IEC 61850 / 61970 / 61968 CIM OCPP) utilityspecific applications (SCADA PI Historian Energy Trading Systems) and the application of mathematical optimization and ML in power systems

Additional European languages a plus (German Spanish Italian)
