Job Summary
This role is based within the Europe region and involves collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, including central teams and our Europe operations and construction teams. The primary focus is to develop, implement, maintain, and improve health, safety, and environmental management across all regional operations, including construction and operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain frameworks to support and enhance HSE management within the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation across Europe, maintain and audit the legal database.
- Maintain Colt DCS minimum standards and audit against internal standards.
- Collaborate with the HSE Director and team to develop and improve operational and construction standards.
- Drive consistency, sustainability, and effectiveness in HSE functions through performance monitoring, audits, and external evaluations.
- Support the transition of HSE practices from construction to operational phases.
- Assist in developing and maintaining ISO 45001 certification, and support ISO 14001 maintenance and expansion.
- Coordinate with certification bodies and internal stakeholders for audits.
- Develop and update HSE management system documents.
- Support customer requests, participate in meetings and audits, and maintain good relationships with customer HSE personnel.
- Contribute to team efforts, providing support and data to identify trends and improve practices.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on results, teamwork, development, and professionalism.
- Support internal training programs and initiatives related to management systems and statutory requirements.
- Administer database systems, including HSE communication sites and document preparation.
- Conduct workplace inspections, produce reports, and develop action plans.
- Ensure closure of actions from audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
- Maintain incident and accident records, conduct investigations as needed.
- Assist in organising and administering HSE campaigns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HSE Director.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within data centre or large-scale engineering projects.
- Experience working in both construction and operational environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal forms.
- Fluency in French and English; additional European languages are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and CDM, including EU Directives.
- Experience developing and implementing management systems aligned with ISO 45001 and 14001.
- Ability to produce high-standard technical documentation.
- Experience in incident investigation and audits against international standards.
- Proven ability to work with diverse, multi-country teams and adapt to changing environments.
- Willingness to travel within Europe.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a passion for quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Chartered membership of IOSH is advantageous.
Qualifications
Relevant BSc or MSc in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
