Field Service Technician / Technicien Field Services Applications Spéciales H/F

Join our Field Services team working towards a more sustainable future through Wärtsilä Special Applications activities (nuclear and military scope). This entity provides comprehensive services for equipment, including reconditioning emergency engines for nuclear power plants worldwide and engines for the Leclerc tanks for the French Army.

The preferred location for this role is Surgères (Charente Maritime), France. From there, you will be deployed mainly across Western Europe (France, Spain, Belgium, Sweden). Wärtsilä covers travel and accommodation expenses to/from your home to the Surgères plant or customer sites.

What Will You Be Doing

This role focuses on Wärtsilä’s Special Applications (SPA) perimeter. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on Wärtsilä emergency diesel engines in nuclear power plants under engineer supervision.
• Participating in breakdown identification.
• Assisting in engine testing under engineer supervision.
• Completing quality documentation.
• Promoting the Wärtsilä brand.

All tasks are carried out respecting Quality, Safety, and Environmental rules, aligned with Wärtsilä’s commitments.

What We Expect From You

• Degree (Bac +2) or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience with diesel engines (preferably Wärtsilä products) and field services (3-5 years).
• English skills (A1-A2 level).

Ideally, You Would Also Have

• 3-5 years in the technical industrial sector.
• Knowledge of engine mechanics, especially Wärtsilä engines.
• Basic understanding of nuclear power plant environments.
• Spanish skills (A1-A2).
• Proficiency in office software.
