We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Insurance Underwriter with MGA, MGU, or insurance experience to join our Workers Compensation Insurance team. The ideal candidate will assess and underwrite commercial insurance applications, ensuring profitability and sustainability. Responsibilities include:
  • Using knowledge and judgment to determine risk eligibility according to program guidelines and responding to agent inquiries via phone, email, chat, mail, and fax.
  • Reviewing insurance applications and documentation to assess risk acceptability based on company standards.
  • Recommending premiums and coverage after analysis of documentation, business factors, and market conditions.
  • Communicating underwriting decisions, proposals, referrals, and declinations in writing.
  • Analyzing commercial accounts and evaluating pricing and coverage for accuracy.
  • Managing a book of business to meet profitability targets.
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assisting with policy binding, endorsements, renewals, and new business underwriting.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (required)
  • 3+ years underwriting experience
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with knowledge of Workers Compensation products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software
  • Must have MGA, MGU, or insurance experience
  • Attention to detail, dependability, and follow-through
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend actions
  • Professional maturity and confidentiality handling
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work non-traditional shifts and maintain a professional appearance
Compensation:

$64,480 to $75,000 DOE
