Our client, a hard rock mining operation in North Africa, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to enhance and develop business processes.

The mine is operational and running profitably. However, the owners have identified further opportunity to enhance business processes, and bring the mine up to international standards.

The COO will report to the CEO, and be responsible for all operational scope related to the mine. The Site Director of the operation - who leads the day-to-day mining activities - will report into this role.

This is a strategic position, looking at overall effectiveness, efficiency and business processes for this site. There is a good foundation to build on - what they need is someone who has run mines for international / listed companies, who can bring that perspective and standard to the operation.

Requirements :

• A degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy or similar
• Significant experience leading mining operations within international or listed companies
• Hard rock mining experience preferred
• Proven ability to implement new standards and processes, while maintaining engagement and performance
• E nglish and French language capability
• Willingness to work rotationally in North Africa
