WHAT - Summary & Purpose Of The Position
The Head of Employee Communications will lead the development and execution of Ipsen’s employee communications strategy, ensuring employees are engaged, motivated, and aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and strategy. This role plays a critical part in strengthening Ipsen’s culture and employer brand, supporting talent acquisition and retention, and driving a shared ambition for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
By fostering a sense of belonging, the Head of Employee Communications will ensure communication initiatives and action plans are consistently implemented across divisions and corporate functions. The ultimate goal of this role is to mobilize employees, instilling confidence in Ipsen’s direction and enhancing motivation through clear, compelling, and impactful communications.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
- Define and implement Ipsen’s global employee communications strategy, ensuring clear objectives, analytics, scheduling, budgeting, and evaluation to continuously enhance Ipsen’s employer brand and employee experience.
- Drive transformation communications, preparing and executing internal communication plans for Ipsen’s strategic transformation priorities, incorporating behavioral science principles to ensure effective employee engagement and change adoption. Serve as the key internal communications advisor to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members for priority transformation programs.
- Develop and execute compelling internal communication initiatives, including tentpole events, campaigns, and engagement programs tailored to Ipsen’s diverse workforce. Proactively recommend and implement more interactive and innovative communication tools, including employee forums, discussion platforms, and digital engagement solutions.
- Drive a Holistic Digital Employee Experience through the management of My Ipsen digital hub (intranet) and the internal channels mix to enhance connectivity, collaboration, and efficiency.
- Strengthen executive and leadership communications, ensuring Ipsen leaders communicate effectively across affiliates and sites. Provide strategic counsel to the Global Leadership Team (GLT) to enhance clarity, consistency, and impact in leadership communications.
- Ensure alignment and coordination among corporate, affiliate, and site-level communicators, leveraging local communications leads as a resource to drive Ipsen’s strategic and cultural priorities.
- Partner with CHRO and HR teams, supporting efforts to strengthen Ipsen’s employer brand and deliver a consistent, engaging, and inspiring employee experience.
- Be a key contact person for Business Continuity Planning and Crisis Management
HOW - Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
- 10+ years of professional experience in communications, content strategy, marketing, public relations, and social media, either in an agency or in-house setting.
- Proven track record in developing and executing impactful employee communication strategies in a global, matrixed organization.
- Experience managing a variety of communication channels and materials, including intranet platforms, executive communications, digital tools, events (e.g., Ipsen Live, GLT Summit), presentations, signage, and leadership communication kits.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills in English and French, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic and forward-thinking mindset, proactive, independent, and able to navigate complexity with agility.
- Excellent organization, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a matrixed and multinational environment, adapting communication approaches for different regions and cultures.
- Ideal: Knowledge of the healthcare industry, including its regulatory and compliance considerations.

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
