Overview

Stryten Energy, with a long history in Lancaster County, operates a growing plastic injection molding facility in West Lampeter Township. We produce plastic components for car batteries and have a stable and growing customer base.

Stryten Energy is searching for a full-time Industrial Electrician. Must have industrial electrical knowledge and strong mechanical abilities. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems in a fast-paced, automated manufacturing environment. Candidates must be open to shift changes, and a technical degree or training is preferred.

This is a 1st shift position (Monday - Friday; 7am - 3pm).


Responsibilities

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and compliance ability with NFPA and OSHA regulations as well as demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Performs electromechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Support new installations, improvements, and optimization projects in all areas of the plant.
  • Ability to run conduit and pull wire as required for power distribution and controls integration.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls systems, to include but not limited to PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, digital and analog I/O, and other electrical anomalies at voltage ranges from 5VDC to 480VAC.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Participate in training and development programs including all areas of environmental, health and safety issues, especially those dealing with proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
  • Position requires handling scrap materials and disposable protective clothing containing lead which requires proper disposal as hazardous waste.
  • Must accurately complete necessary paperwork as required and have excellent attendance.
  • Use the Work Order software system and other computer programs as required.
  • Assist in developing documentation for new and existing plant automation and control systems.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Equipment Used:

  • Experience with electrical tools, i.e. oscilloscope, multimeters, amp-meters, megohmmeters, power meters, process meters, etc. Person must possess above average computer skills that relate to report writing, presentations, spreadsheets, and project management, to include most Microsoft products and must be able to computer knowledge for access to, modification of, and upload/download PLC and panelview programs. Familiar with common hand tool usage including power tools.

Education, Experience, Certifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pass electromechanical maintenance test
  • An AA degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance a plus
    • PLC experience (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley) a plus
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and industrial skills
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel and climb. Able to use both arms and hands to use computer, peripherals, and lift 40 pounds from floor level to overhead. Able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms. Able to wear respirator and other PPE as required. Able to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.

ENVIRONMENT
Able to work inside or outside the plant environment and in all climate conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to lead, fume, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, heat, and cold.


TRAVEL
Travel as required for training, meeting with regulatory agencies, and to other company sanctioned events.
