We are looking for a French-qualified lawyer with initial experience in Capital Markets or related securities issuance, settlement, or custody business.

You will be a member of the Legal Division of Euroclear SA, the holding company of the Euroclear Group. Working alongside an international team of lawyers, you will support mainly the ESES CSD entities: Euroclear France, Euroclear Belgium, and Euroclear Nederland. There will also be opportunities to assist other group entities and collaborate with senior lawyers across the division.

Your main responsibilities will include handling legal aspects of ESES CSDs, such as:

• day-to-day business queries (e.g., corporate actions, new issues, settlement activity)
• contractual matters
• regulatory matters

You will also participate in projects that are primarily international in scope, relating to settlement, corporate actions, collateral management, or corporate law.

Role

As ESES Legal Advisor, your tasks will include:

• advising internal clients on daily business queries
• providing legal and regulatory analysis and advice regarding existing or new services of the ESES CSDs
• collaborating with lawyers from different Euroclear Group entities on cross-functional matters
• participating in legal training initiatives
• drafting and negotiating contracts with service providers, counterparts, and clients

Technical Skills

We seek a lawyer with a degree from a French university and:

• at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in capital markets or similar fields (e.g., securities issuance, settlement, custody), preferably gained within an in-house legal team of a bank, broker, financial institution, or law firm
