The Director of Business Development EU will lead commercial growth initiatives for our Biologics CDMO services, focusing on expanding the client base and driving revenue growth. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, negotiating contracts, and aligning cross-functional teams to support client needs from early development through commercial manufacturing. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the biologics market and CDMO business model, with a strong network in biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in biologics development and manufacturing (e.g., mAbs, recombinant proteins, cell and gene therapy components).
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads to meet/exceed annual sales targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans in alignment with company growth goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the business development process.
  • Negotiate terms and close commercial agreements in coordination with legal and finance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D., or MS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the biologics or CDMO industry.
  • Proven track record of closing multimillion-dollar deals in biologics CDMO services.
  • Deep understanding of biologics drug development and manufacturing processes (USP/DSP, formulation, fill/finish, tech transfer).
  • Strong network within biotech and pharma sectors, especially with decision-makers at emerging and mid-sized biotech companies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
