Job Description:

Our client, a hard rock mining operation in North Africa, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to enhance and develop business processes.

The mine is operational and profitable. However, the owners have identified further opportunities to improve business processes and elevate the mine to international standards.

The COO will report to the CEO and be responsible for all operational aspects related to the mine. The Site Director, who leads daily mining activities, will report to this role.

This is a strategic position focused on overall effectiveness, efficiency, and business process improvement for the site. The ideal candidate will have experience managing mines for international or listed companies and can bring that perspective and standards to the operation.

Requirements:

1. A degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or a related field
2. Significant experience leading mining operations within international or listed companies
3. Hard rock mining experience is preferred
4. Proven ability to implement new standards and processes while maintaining engagement and performance
5. Fluent in English and French
6. Willingness to work rotationally in North Africa
