Working Student (m / f / d) in Software Development for Propellant Management

ArianeGroup GmbH in Bremen is looking for a (Working) Student Software Developer (m / f / d) for the Propellant Management Team in the department of Upper Stage Cryogenic and Storable Propulsion System Engineering (JTLF2).

Main tasks and activities :
  • Support in the development of internal simulation software:

Working with a multi-process environment, with multiple packages and libraries.

  • Improve application architecture and extensibility to new domains
  • Improve data acquisition and representation of simulation results
  • Support modernization of legacy systems, including the creation of Python packages
  • Support development of CI / CD pipelines for new and existing software
Required qualifications :

Minimum requirements :

  • Enrolled student in software engineering or a comparable engineering degree program (bachelor's or master's)
  • Practical programming experience in C / C++ and Python (via projects, internships, or courses)
  • Familiarity with Git version control
  • Basic knowledge of parallel environments, e.g., multi-process, threading
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows OS
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code
Additional advantageous qualifications :
  • Experience with GitHub or similar repositories demonstrating software projects
  • Experience in developing simulation applications
  • Experience with DevOps, CI / CD, GitLab, Bitbucket

This site, located on the outskirts of Bremen, specializes in developing and manufacturing the upper stage of Ariane launchers. Its experts are responsible for the design, development, and final integration of the Ariane 6 upper stage, and are developing the Astris Kick Stage, powered by the future re-ignitable bi-propellant engine Berta. The Bremen site also produces metal tanks for orbital propulsion systems.
