Job Description:

Our client, a hard rock mining operation in North Africa, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to enhance and develop business processes.

The mine is operational and profitable. However, the owners see further opportunities to improve business processes and align the operation with international standards.

The COO will report to the CEO and will be responsible for all operational aspects of the mine. The Site Director, who manages daily mining activities, will report to this role.

This is a strategic position focused on overall effectiveness, efficiency, and business process improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience managing mines for international or listed companies and can bring that perspective and standard to the operation.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or a related field
  • Extensive experience leading mining operations within international or listed companies
  • Hard rock mining experience is preferred
  • Proven ability to implement new standards and processes while maintaining engagement and performance
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Willingness to work rotationally in North Africa
