We now have a position open for a qualified, motivated and experienced TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER – EUROPE, developing new business, managing key accounts and providing detailed technical & commercial proposals for our industrial damper & expansion joint solutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our sales team, engineers, operations and management to develop new business by delivering accurate and timely quotations, technical support, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
The role is based at our head office in Eastwood, Nottingham, UK.

About You

The ideal candidate will have worked in a custom engineered solutions environment and possess technical competence, a flair for the commercial aspects of business, and have knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes in a custom-made production environment. With an aptitude for effective communication, motivating, planning and delivering on agreed Company objectives, the Area Sales Manager will be able to work independently as well as contribute as a key member of our sales team.

Essential Criteria: Qualifications & Technical Skills / Capabilities
  • Experience working in a Technical Sales or similar customer-facing role.
  • Level 3 – Mechanical Engineering based qualification (ONC or above).
  • Experience of working in an Engineering/Production/Manufacturing environment.
  • Technical expertise to interpret customer specifications and recommend suitable damper & expansion joint solutions.
  • Estimating knowledge to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to gather necessary information and understand, gather and calculate / estimate project costs and lead times.
  • Proposal writing to prepare detailed and accurate quotations based on customer specifications, project requirements, and cost estimations.
  • Commercial acumen to review and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
Desirable Criteria: Qualifications & Technical Skills / Capabilities
  • Level 5 – Mechanical Engineering based qualification (Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Experience of working for demanding and critical industry sectors, such as Oil and Gas/ Power.
  • A second (European) language.
