Project: Egocentric 4D Perception

This project advances first-person multimodal visual and auditory perception to improve industrial environments. It utilizes transformer-based video-audio recognition to help technicians perform tasks efficiently and introduces automated systems for real-time monitoring, guidance, and validation.

• Preprocess multimodal data (video, audio) for deep learning, including annotation, synchronization, and augmentation.
• Design and implement transformer models for real-time action recognition and task validation.
• Fine-tune existing deep learning architectures for industrial scenarios like assembly line monitoring or maintenance.
• Collect datasets of egocentric hand-object interactions using wearable cameras, sensors, or VR/AR devices.

Qualifications:

Working towards a Master’s degree (last year) in:

• Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, especially with skills in NLP, LLM, Transformers, or Computer Vision.
• Full stack development (front end and back end).
• Digital Twin / Digital Thread in an engineering context.
• Robotics.

Skills:

• Proficiency in TensorFlow or PyTorch, focusing on transformer architectures for video and audio processing. Experience with dataset synchronization and processing.
• Strong Python skills, with experience in machine learning pipelines.
• Ability to evaluate deep learning models using various metrics.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing workflows and human-machine interaction.
• English proficiency: C1 minimum.
