As a Senior Software Development Engineer within our Loyalty team, you will be an integral part of developing our next-generation loyalty platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, product managers, and developers, to design and implement solutions that meet high standards. You’ll be engaged in the full software development life cycle—from requirement analysis to delivery validation—while focusing on scalability, performance, and technical excellence.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

• Loyalty Platform Development: Design and develop new features for the Amadeus Loyalty platform, including the points bank system (accrual and redemption), ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
• Technical Solution Design: Collaborate with product management to define and propose viable technical solutions, perform feasibility studies, and validate technical designs with stakeholders.
• Database Modeling and Implementation: Model, design, and implement databases with a focus on performance optimization, capable of handling high-volume transactions.
• Unit and Performance Testing: Conduct rigorous testing, including unit, package, and performance tests, to ensure software quality standards are met.
• Collaborative Development: Participate in Agile development processes, working closely with analysts and developers to refine requirements and enhance functionality.
• Support and Maintenance: Provide support during production, assisting with debugging and responding to problem tracking records (PTR) and change requests (CR) from product management.

What we're seeking:

• Extensive Development Experience: Proven experience as a senior software developer, with a strong background in object-oriented languages (preferably Java or C++), in a Unix environment.
• Database Expertise: Experience with relational databases (Oracle preferred), NoSQL databases (e.g., Couchbase), or SQL over Hadoop frameworks (e.g., Spark).
• Performance Optimization: Experience in performance tuning, both software-related and database-related.
• Agile and T-Shaped: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary Agile environment, balancing long-term vision with immediate tasks.
• Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, Oracle databases, Java 8 Spring frameworks; familiarity with cloud environments, event meshes, and serverless architectures is a plus.
• English Fluency: Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
