Job Description:

The Head of UW Planning and Actuarial Forecasting, under the guidance of the Global Head of P&C Analytics and Business Insights, will lead a team responsible for coordinating the underwriting plan process and developing the UW Plan tool for P&C. Additionally, this role involves leading the annual performance analysis for SCOR Business Solutions portfolios worldwide and providing analytical support to senior management through performance monitoring, market studies, and benchmarking exercises.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Managing a team
  2. Coordinating the production of the Underwriting Plan process for SCOR P&C
  3. Leading the development of the UW Plan tool, ensuring it meets business needs and data quality standards
  4. Ensuring compliance with group processes and methodologies across all business units
  5. Aligning business planning with performance metrics and financial planning
Business Steering and Analytical Insights:
  1. Leading the annual performance analysis for SBS portfolios
  2. Supporting senior management with analytics to monitor performance and identify opportunities
  3. Defining economic value metrics for business steering in collaboration with other teams
  4. Understanding SCOR's P&C business from strategic to financial reporting
  5. Engaging with senior stakeholders confidently and critically reviewing business plans and performance
  6. Supporting the establishment of a unified source of truth for performance metrics
Lloyd’s Syndicate Forecasting and Performance:
  1. Managing Lloyd’s Syndicate Business Forecast process and stakeholder relations
  2. Ensuring Lloyd’s reporting requirements are met
  3. Aligning syndicate planning and performance monitoring with broader P&C processes
Harmonization and Tool Enhancement:
  1. Harmonizing planning and renewal processes across divisions and regions
  2. Enhancing analytical tools and methodologies for performance assessment

The role is part of the P&C Analytics Management Team.

Required Experience & Competencies:
  • Actuarial background; FIA qualification preferred
  • Several years in insurance/reinsurance
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s planning and performance processes
  • Stakeholder interaction skills in multicultural environments
  • Teamwork, networking, process, and project management skills
  • Experience managing small teams is advantageous
Required Education:
  • Associate or Fellowship of an actuarial society
  • Advanced insurance or financial studies
