Job Description

We are seeking a Senior MS SQL Database Administrator to join our diverse global team. This role involves supporting our US client with database system administration and ongoing support. Responsibilities include managing the full lifecycle of SQL Server databases, including configuration, optimization, maintenance, and support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL Server environments, with a focus on performance tuning, backup management, and server health monitoring.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform comprehensive database administration tasks for MS SQL Server, including installation, upgrades, configuration, and performance tuning.
2. Monitor and maintain database health, space utilization, and server load to ensure optimal performance.
3. Conduct regular index maintenance and rebuilds to improve query performance.
4. Manage database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
5. Configure and optimize database storage structures with security best practices.
6. Manage database users, roles, and profiles, and integrate with Identity Management systems.
7. Collaborate with external clients and internal teams to gather and understand new requirements.
8. Participate in design and architecture reviews to ensure database solutions align with best practices.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users, clients, or partners.
10. Utilize SQL Loader and other tools for data import/export and transformation tasks.

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
2. Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining MS SQL Server, including enabling TLS/SSL for secure communication.
3. Strong expertise in T-SQL, ETL processes, and query performance tuning.
4. Deep knowledge of backup procedures, recovery systems, and disaster recovery planning.
5. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues ensuring high availability and performance.
6. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
7. Intermediate or higher proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
