About the Role
We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer whose primary mission is to manage and continuously improve MFL’s infrastructure , ensuring best-in-class performance and seamless scalability. You will own our cloud environments end-to-end, diagnose and resolve bottlenecks, and architect solutions to handle tomorrow’s growth. As a technical partner to the CTO & our engineering team, you’ll steer strategic infrastructure and tooling decisions that shape the future of the platform.
Tasks
- Infrastructure Operations & Management Maintain and enhance AWS-based services (Lambda, SQS, CloudFront, S3) & Vercel for uptime, reliability, and resilience.
- Oversee SQL database health, backup strategies, and schema evolution to support growing data needs.
- Performance Optimization & Scalability Profile and tune serverless functions and database queries to meet stringent latency and throughput targets.
- Implement auto-scaling, caching layers, and queuing patterns to handle spikes in user activity.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation Build and refine CI / CD pipelines for both frontend (Next.js / React on Vercel) and backend services.
- Codify infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation, driving consistency and repeatable deployments.
- Monitoring, Alerting & Incident Response Develop robust observability dashboards (CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK) and alerting rules to detect anomalies early.
- Lead incident response, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive remediation and feedback loops.
- Strategic Technology & Architecture Evaluate emerging cloud services, frameworks, and tooling to guide MFL’s infrastructure roadmap.
- Collaborate with the CTO & our engineering team on tech choices—balancing innovation, cost, and operational complexity.
Qualifications
- Experience : 3+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability roles, managing production workloads in AWS.
- Cloud Expertise : Deep hands-on with AWS Lambda, SQS, CloudFront, S3, relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and Vercel
- Performance Mindset : Demonstrated ability to diagnose, profile, and optimize serverless architectures and database systems.
- Observability : Experience building dashboards and alerting with CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK, or similar.
- Strategic Thinking : Comfortable researching and recommending new technologies, weighing trade-offs for scale and maintainability.
- Collaboration : Clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams and remote environments.
