Context & Purpose

As the HR Manager France, you will play a strategic role in a fast-growing start-up environment.

This position is key to supporting the brand’s rollout in the French market, focusing on HR structuring, process implementation, and change management.

You will be responsible for designing and executing a high-performance HR strategy aligned with both local ambitions and the Group’s culture.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build the HR function in France while working closely with the UK headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

HR Structuring & Growth Support

  • Define and implement the local HR strategy in alignment with the brand’s development plan in France.
  • Develop local HR policies (compensation, benefits, time management, etc.) ensuring legal compliance.
  • Establish key processes : recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, training, and people reviews.
  • Deploy HR tools to monitor workforce metrics and labour costs (Cost per Hire, Turnover Rate, Payroll, EBITDA, etc.).
  • Prepare regular reports for the Group and contribute to workforce planning.

Talent Development & Employee Engagement

  • Work with UK teams to adapt and promote the Employer Value Proposition in France.
  • Design a structured and engaging onboarding journey.
  • Implement a continuous learning and upskilling strategy aligned with operational needs.
  • Lead performance review cycles, promotions, and salary reviews.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Act as the main contact for individual and collective employee relations, including managing works councils where applicable, handling conflicts, and overseeing disciplinary actions.
  • Stay updated on French labour law and ensure company practices comply.
  • Liaise with external legal partners.
  • Ensure compliance with French legal obligations covering employment, health & safety, professional equality, and GDPR.

Change Management & Company Culture

  • Support change initiatives linked to the brand’s market entry : new tools, methods, and cultural development.
  • Develop action plans based on engagement survey results.
  • Establish management routines promoting autonomy, collaboration, and accountability.

Profile Sought

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role with strategic responsibilities, in multi-site environments (retail, foodservice, hospitality, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the financial aspects of HR management (payroll oversight, HR budget, forecasting).
  • Comfortable in fast-evolving, high-growth settings; able to thrive in ambiguity and “build from scratch” scenarios.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, service-oriented mindset, and the ability to engage and structure teams.
  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
