If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking an Experienced Technical Safety Engineer to join our team based in Paris.


Mission and Responsibilities :

Within the Safety department, you will integrate into a team of HSE Design engineers focused on one of the Technip Energies projects (oil and gas onshore/offshore, petrochemical, energy transition, mining, pharmacy). You will interface with the HSE Design Team and other disciplines like Process, Piping, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation.

Your principal duties will include:

  • Identify and qualify Major Accident Events
  • Design and implement prevention, control, mitigation, and protection measures
  • Provide safe design to protect Personnel, Environment, and Assets

Activities and deliverables include:

  • Preliminary risk analysis
  • Participation in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.)
  • Plot plan and 3D model reviews
  • Identification of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and criticality rating
  • Hazardous area classification
  • Passive fire protection
  • Cold spill protection
  • Active fire protection (firewater pumps, firefighting networks, deluge systems)
  • Gas and fire detection systems
  • Personnel protection measures
  • Escape, Evacuation & Rescue planning
  • Specification and procurement of firefighting and personnel protection equipment, technical bid evaluation, and vendor follow-up

Note: Quantitative analyses like consequence analysis, QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA are out of scope, but related activities are part of Risk Quantification.

You are expected to produce high-quality deliverables considering project constraints and may supervise other Safety engineers. You will also participate in training, technical presentations, and R&D development.

Profile:

Chartered Engineer with a background in Chemical, Process, or Safety Engineering, with over six years of safety engineering experience in industries like oil and gas, petrochemical, energy transition, mining, or pharmacy. You should be proactive, autonomous, adaptable, communicative, and fluent in English. Business trips abroad are expected.
