A leading company in the aerospace sector is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel & Data Protection Officer to provide legal support and ensure compliance with data protection regulations across multiple international subsidiaries. The role involves contract negotiation, team supervision, and legal training for operational staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, legal expertise, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities - Within an international and demanding environment, the candidate provides legal advice and assistance to the management and operational teams of Safran Seats France and its affiliates in the UK, USA, Singapore, Mexico, and Tunisia.
Beyond legal duties (risk prevention and management), the candidate is also the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for Safran Seats. This role involves (i) implementing Safran's data protection system within Seats, (ii) leading the Data Protection Relay network within Seats, and (iii) independently ensuring compliance with applicable data protection regulations across the subsidiaries.
The candidate collaborates with legal teams of foreign affiliates to ensure proper coordination between the company and its subsidiaries.
The role includes supervising a team comprising a junior lawyer and an apprentice.
Main responsibilities include negotiating and drafting client and supplier contracts (sales, purchases, services, supply, research, general conditions, etc.) and managing pre-litigation and litigation matters for Seats France, Composites, and after-sales support. Tasks involve:
- Ensuring contract compliance with Group policies and internal legal procedures;
- Developing and updating standard documents for sales and/or service deployment, both in primary and aftermarket sectors;
- Regularly training operational staff (Sales, Program, Technical, R&T, Quality, etc.) on legal and contractual issues;
- Monitoring legal developments in contract law and regulations (export controls, anti-corruption, customs, etc.).

Education - The candidate should have a higher legal education in business law (Master II, DJCE, etc.). A legal degree in a foreign language is a plus.

- Natural authority, diplomacy, maturity, and judgment;
- Intellectual rigor, synthesis, and drafting skills;

- Ability to communicate succinctly and impactfully with Safran Seats' management team;
- Ability to mentor and develop junior legal staff.
