Overview

As one of the world’s leading consulting and engineering companies, operating across Energy and Materials markets, we are proud to be in a position to expand our team in Dunkirk, France. We have partnered with Airswift to meet our recruitment objectives heading into 2024.

We have an opportunity for a HSE Supervisor to support a large gas terminal project based in Dunkirk. This will be a site-based role at the construction site in Dunkirk, France. The successful candidate will be engaged on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for further renewals. We can cater for both employed or freelance setups.

Role & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to achieving HSE objectives and the success of all project HSE initiatives.
• Engage with contractors to positively influence HSE standards and improve contractor HSE performance.
• Challenge unsafe behavior and correct inappropriate HSE performance.
• Report all instances of HSE non-compliance, including unsafe acts, conditions, incidents, and near misses.
• Liaise daily with Contractor HSE officers to ensure effective implementation of all project HSE requirements.
• Implement strategies to monitor the effectiveness of safety campaigns, task instructions, and risk/hazard management programs.
• Support review of subcontractor documentation including Method Statements, Task Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Assessments, permits, and certificates, verifying implementation at the job site.
• Maintain a safe work environment within your area of control, aligning with contract HSE goals.
• Ensure HSE training requirements are communicated, implemented, and effective.
• Participate in site HSE inspections and audits, leading them as appropriate.
• Ensure contractors maintain safety and emergency equipment according to legislation and HSE plans.
• Participate in emergency drills and exercises, capturing lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Participate in incident investigations and reviews.
• Ensure timely and accurate HSE performance reporting.

Role Requirements

• Experience in the construction industry, preferably in Oil & Gas projects.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering HSE training in English and other languages.
• Previous experience in similar roles on major projects.
• Advanced written and spoken English skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
