You will manage the delivery of all HSE activities in a manufacturing facility or commercial areas (offices, Sales, Warehouses), including standards & procedures, capability processes, reporting, compliance, and audits. This involves defining and reviewing standards and legislation applicable to the site, validating HSE design into projects and modifications, and supporting work processes (IIM pillar) to improve HSE application and effectiveness. You will map applicable legislation and standards, ensure ongoing compliance, and manage relationships with legal departments and authorities. Additionally, you will maintain all HSE regulatory requirements for the plant.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Coordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus on annual plans for facility-wide HSE initiatives.
  • Plan, budget, and control annual capital budgets for HSE to enable the execution of the HSE plan and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide HSE expertise for new projects and change management activities.
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted and follow-ups are implemented to minimize accidents and asset losses, protecting employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Ensure the right talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning, supporting the development of Safety specialists.
  • Ensure facility standards comply with company and governmental regulations.
  • Promote a safety culture through training and coaching, ensuring safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the organization.

  • Health and Safety audit experience.

Position details:

  • Member of the Regional HSE Leadership team and the Category or Regional Leadership team.
  • Develop and implement regional HSE strategies, gaining buy-in from leadership teams, and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate with regional HSE teams to align with global strategies and support local plans.
  • Mentor and support Plant HSE Managers.
  • Primary advisor to regional leaders and point of contact for HSE matters.
  • Set performance standards and support continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize HSE-related capex projects.

Job-specific requirements:

  • Define and align HSE plans with regional and global strategies.
  • Develop standards and monitor compliance.
  • Conduct assessments and provide expertise, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Develop local capabilities through training and mentoring.
  • Stay updated on HSE trends and practices.
  • Lead aspects of the MEU HSE Plan as part of leadership teams.

Additional skills and qualifications:

  • University degree in health, occupational health, safety, or environment.
  • HSE qualifications within 2 years if not already qualified.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HSE, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Proven team, change, and project management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder influence and communication skills.
  • Experience with auditing, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and project management.
  • Cultural adaptability and ability to drive change.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluent in French and English.
