Instrument Specialist M/F
Thanks to its internationally recognized expertise in the field of oil and gas production unit operations, maintenance and also Renewable Energy market, SPIE Global Services Energy was selected to provide this activity on Block 3 PROJECT in Angola.
In order to participate in our growth of the Sub-Saharan Africa Business Unit, we are looking for an "Instrument Specialist". This position is located offshore.
Operations
- Under instruction from the Maintenance Superintendent, ensures proper planning, scheduling, and execution of heavy maintenance operations in conjunction with production or other constraints.
- Ensures all Instrumentation and Control Systems maintenance operations are carried out.
- Analyzes indicators provided by the CMMS, stock management, and intervention reports to improve maintenance (HSE, availability, preservation, cost optimization).
- Ensures scheduled preventive maintenance on facilities is executed as planned, with all necessary spare parts and materials available.
- Organizes onsite maintenance operations under his responsibility.
- Provides technical support for job preparation to the planning team.
- Liaises with third parties for troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment activities.
- Ensures feedback from site after vendor interventions and proposes improvements.
- Ensures compliance with company HSE regulations and procedures during maintenance activities.
- Manages interventions using the CMMS, checks reports, and writes technical reports.
- Monitors utilities and equipment under his responsibility.
- Ensures knowledge transfer through mentoring and participates actively.
- Carries out interventions within his competence at the company's request.
- Takes charge of systems under his responsibility in case of breakdowns until correct operation is restored.
Methods
- Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyzes them, and suggests improvements.
- Reviews preventive maintenance programs and suggests enhancements.
- Warns support teams of recurring issues with spare parts.
- Suggests improvements and verifies the quality of interventions through on-site checks.
- Ensures team members have the required qualifications and skills, suggesting corrective measures if needed.
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC or equivalent).
- Proven experience with Instrumentation and Control Systems equipment.
- Experience calibrating gauges and pressure safety valves.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in maintenance on oil and gas production installations.
- Good knowledge of instrumentation and control system documentation and standards.
- SAP/R3 experience.
- Physical ability to work offshore in climatic conditions of the site.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French and Portuguese is recommended.

Candidate Criteria
Minimum 10 years of experience; certifications like BOSIET, medical certificates, and specific electrical training are preferred.
