Company
Adoc Talent Management is seeking a Researcher in chemical ecology specializing in Thrips insects (M/F) for its client, an innovative SME focused on sustainable biocontrol solutions. The company develops solutions based on Kairomone and Allomone to reduce phytosanitary product use while preserving biodiversity, aiming to expand its insect and crop range following recent funding.
Position
Reporting to the co-founder within the R&D department, you will contribute to projects in chemical ecology, analyzing odor interactions and insect behavior to develop biocontrol products. Your duties include collaborating with technical partners, coordinating projects, studying insect behavior, optimizing breeding, and proposing research enhancements.
You will establish and strengthen academic and private collaborations, conduct behavioral tests, organize insect and plant production, and document laboratory and field results. Data analysis and report drafting will be essential, with an emphasis on addressing homologation and industrialization challenges.
This versatile role is based in Rennes, permanent, and available immediately.
Profile
You hold a PhD in chemical ecology, entomology, agronomy, or related fields, with diverse research experience in France and/or abroad. You are familiar with entomology, especially biting-sucking insects like whiteflies and thrips, and have a good understanding of the research community in this area. Project management and experimental design experience are required.
Proficiency with olfactometers is essential; knowledge of allelochemistry, semiochemistry, kairomones, and allomones is advantageous. Additional skills in analytical chemistry and electrophysiology are a plus. Knowledge of VOC-based repellents and plant-insect interactions will be valued.
You are passionate, curious, team-oriented, autonomous, organized, resilient, proactive, pragmatic, and adaptable. Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French is a plus but not required, with a willingness to learn appreciated.
You are motivated by research with environmental impact and understand the technical, regulatory, and industrial aspects involved. If interested in joining an international team of experts and contributing to breakthrough technologies, please send your application (CV, publications, patents, cover letter, salary expectations) to Adoc Talent Management.
