Critical Infrastructure Project Manager - Data Center Retrofit Project - France - Freelance

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead a critical infrastructure retrofit project within a live data center environment in France. This role involves replacing and renewing essential infrastructure, including BMS elements, electrical infrastructure, and switchboards across the entire facility. The project requires meticulous planning, strong technical understanding, and the ability to manage commissioning and testing in a live setting with minimal disruption.

Contract: 4 months initial contract with the possibility to extend to 6 months or more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage all aspects of the critical infrastructure retrofit project within a live data center.
2. Oversee the replacement and renewal of BMS elements, electrical infrastructure, switchboards, and other critical systems.
3. Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
4. Manage and coordinate with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
5. Oversee commissioning and testing procedures to ensure successful implementation.
6. Track project finances and negotiate effectively.
7. Apply a structured, patient approach to planning and execution, with a focus on detail.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in critical infrastructure projects, ideally within data centers.
• Strong technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering (advantageous).
• Experience managing projects in live, operational environments.
• Proven ability in project management and finance tracking/negotiation.
• Understanding of turnkey projects and managing within grey space.
• Fluent in French (native or near-native).
• Strong command of English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:

• PMP certification (highly regarded).
