Job Description:

We are looking for "SENIOR ONSHORE OIL&GAS PROJECT CONTRACT ENGINEER - CLAIM & COUNTERCLAIM SPECIALIST (M/F)" for one of our clients, to be based in Ile-de-France (France) for a 6-month contract (possibility of renewal).

"SENIOR ONSHORE OIL&GAS PROJECT CONTRACT ENGINEER - CLAIM & COUNTERCLAIM SPECIALIST (M/F)". What will your responsibilities and missions be?

Mission Context:

Ongoing RC Transformation Project at the Grandpuits refinery, currently in the construction phase.

Objectives:

As part of the Galaxie Project execution on the Grandpuits platform, the Claims and Counterclaims Specialist will be responsible for managing contract and claim-related activities.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination of Claims and Counterclaims:
  • Develop and manage claim and counterclaim files
  • Promote preventive claim practices and raise awareness within the project team
  • Share methodologies for effective claim and counterclaim management
  • Contract and Claim Analysis:
  • Provide expert support on existing contracts and claims, both during the execution and close-out phases
  • Review contract clauses and identify potential or ongoing disputes
  • Advisory Support:
  • Offer guidance on real-time claim management issues ("on-the-spot" requests)
  • Assist in drafting contractual correspondence and notices to contractors
  • Dispute Assessment:
  • Investigate major claims and disputes, evaluate their merits, and propose resolution strategies
  • Support the preparation of robust claim files and contribute to the negotiation and settlement processes
  • Internal Coordination:
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders such as the HQ Claims Department, Project Management, and Legal team

What profile and skills are Required for this "" Position?

Profile Required:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in EPC/EPCmN projects
  • At least 5 years of experience on onshore oil & gas industrial projects
  • Fluency in French and English is mandatory

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, influencing, and networking abilities
  • Proven capability to manage complexity and engage with challenging stakeholders
  • Experience in knowledge sharing and dissemination of lessons learned across project teams
  • Expertise in claim management, including prevention, resolution, and documentation
  • Solid background as an EPC contract professional, with 15 years of project-focused experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of all project phases, including experience as a package contract engineer
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management: preparation, call for tender (CFT), negotiation, and administration
