The opportunity

We are thrilled to invite you to an exciting opportunity to join the Platform Support team, where you will be responsible for backporting bugfixes. Backporting involves taking changes from the trunk (the newest Unity version/branch) and adapting them for older branches, including Long Term Support (LTS) releases. Given that LTS versions are the most stable and widely used, your contributions directly impact the quality and user experience for a majority of Unity’s users.

Some backports might involve merge conflicts, where your analytical skills will come into play. With guidance from the team, you will debug, resolve conflicts, modify Unity’s source code, and test your changes to ensure they meet Unity’s high quality standards.

• Test code changes on different platforms, from niche smartphones to newest gaming consoles

What we're looking for

• Being a student enrolled in an IT or similar program
• Graduation Year: 2026 or later
• Willingness to analyze and modify (with support) C++ and C# code
• Knowledge of the Unity editor
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes

You might also have

• Experience working with Github and Git
• Experience building and running Unity projects on different platforms
