Biomemory in Paris is seeking an R&D Biotech Engineer to drive hands-on molecular biology work supporting DNA data storage technologies. You will engage in DNA manipulation, enzymatic reactions, sequencing prep, and material characterization while collaborating with the Hardware team on process robustness and cost efficiency.

The role requires a degree in Biotechnology or related field and substantial hands-on experience in molecular biology, with a proactive, organized, and autonomous approach

Qualifications

• Degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on R&D experience, mostly in molecular biology.
• Biochemical experience or background is welcome.
• Experience with several of the following: DNA manipulation and purification, enzymatic reactions and DNA assembly, electrophoresis and analytical methods, sequencing or library preparation, material or surface characterization.

Responsabilités

• Perform and optimize molecular biology experiments.
• Work across diverse experimental activities including DNA manipulation and sequencing preparation.
• Support hardware team in material characterization and impact on performance.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate new methods and reagents.
• Troubleshoot issues and propose practical solutions.
• Analyze results and translate into reports and next steps.
• Improve workflows for robustness, reproducibility, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and SOPs.
• Organize and prioritize work autonomously across projects.
• Adapt quickly to evolving R&D priorities.
