Job Description:

This position involves managing the school nutrition program, including developing menus, ensuring compliance with health regulations, supervising staff, managing budgets, and maintaining sanitation standards. The role requires a high level of communication, organization, and knowledge of relevant policies and regulations.

Terms: 210 work days; salary negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent with three years of relevant experience or an Associate/Bachelor degree with related experience.
  2. Experience with school lunch programs and knowledge of sanitation and public health requirements.
  3. Supervisory experience and familiarity with USDA, MDE, and other regulations.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to manage budgets and personnel.
  5. Valid Michigan driver’s license and physical ability to lift 50 pounds.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and oversee the food service program, including menus and special events.
  2. Attend professional development and staff meetings.
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Maintain equipment, sanitation, and safety standards.
  5. Manage inventory, vendor relations, and food service data.
  6. Participate in summer food programs and other related duties as needed.
