Leach International Europe seeks a visionary Director of Engineering – R&I to architect our technology roadmap and accelerate breakthrough concepts from idea to industrialization. You will partner with R&D and business leadership to translate strategic intent into executable portfolios that strengthen market leadership in aerospace and defense.

Lead data-driven R&I strategy, governance forums, and partnerships while owning end-to-end execution from feasibility to manufacturing handoff.

Qualifications

Advanced engineering degree; 10+ years leading R&I/Engineering in Aerospace/Defense/Railway.
Domain depth in EASA/FAA certification, ARP4754A, DO-178C.
Budget mastery and value-based prioritization; make/buy/M&A diligence.
Willingness to travel internationally; ability to obtain Confidential Defense clearance.

Responsabilités

Frame data-driven R&I strategy and technology roadmap for aerospace markets.
Chair governance forums and sequence initiatives by value and risk.
Identify acquisition targets and co-development partnerships.
Own execution from feasibility to industrialization and handoff to manufacturing.
Manage R&I budget, optimise costs and measure value metrics.
Run tech watch and translate insights into action.
Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team; foster safety and continuous improvement.
