The Director C&I Solutions is responsible for the development of SMAs Commercial and Industrial business within the designated markets. He or she manages, develops, and maintains positive key business partnerships and stakeholder relationships in line with segment market priorities.

The scope of responsibility includes the C&I solar, storage, and EV charging portfolio (Hardware, Software, Services) with current and future business models.


Key responsibilities

  1. Manages sales, revenue generation, business, and partner development of the Commercial & Industrial segment within the designated markets in the region, in strong interaction with the global C&I business responsible and the regional management team.
  2. Ensures collection and analysis of regional market data to derive requirements and strategic implications for segment development.
  3. Designs and implements regional strategic segment plans and initiatives along the global C&I segment strategy to achieve business targets.
  4. Manages financial performance, KPIs, and forecast accuracy for the designated markets.
  5. Develops a thorough understanding of existing and potential customer groups, including targeted C&I end customer verticals.
  6. Steers the placement of the C&I solution portfolio through existing and new sales channels and multiplicators (multi-channel approach).
  7. Develops industry relationships by interacting with key customers, stakeholders, and partners regularly.
  8. Implements a customer-centric mindset within the team, leading to improved customer experience and achievement of local segment targets.
  9. Collaborates with Marketing and Sales Enablement on messaging, value selling, and sales tools (e.g., SalesForce).
  10. Reports to the VP C&I Solutions Western & Southern Europe.


Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Requires tertiary qualifications (Business or Engineering) with a keen affinity for technical products.
  2. At least 7 years of experience in sales or business development, with sound knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry.
  3. Experience in developing and managing within an industrial company in a matrix and multifunctional environment, preferably in renewable energy or similar industries.
  4. Experience in initiating, negotiating, closing contracts, and managing relationships with customers and partners.
  5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, along with emotional intelligence, to motivate and build trust.
  6. Excellent intercultural communication skills.
  7. Highly customer and success-oriented, flexible, and capable of working independently and in teams.
  8. Entrepreneurial spirit with a problem-solving mindset.
  9. High willingness to travel internationally.
  10. Proficiency in English; Italian, French, Spanish are a plus.

Reporting to the Vice President C&I Solutions Western- & Southern Europe.
