Our client’s Research & Development Team is seeking a Digital Team Leader to join us. The candidate will manage a team from concept to GDSII, collaborating closely with the technical director to define, implement, and monitor a unified digital design methodology.

The role involves working with other design teams (verification, physical implementation, mixed signal) to deliver state-of-the-art SoC in advanced CMOS technology.

Work description

1. Lead and support a digital IC design team from RTL to GDSII.
2. Propose and develop a design methodology to harmonize practices and optimize team performance across projects.
3. Interact with EDA providers to support the design team and enhance tool usage.
4. Harmonize design practices and contribute to technical documentation.
5. Share expertise within the digital design team(s).
6. Ensure collaboration between digital, analog, mixed-signal teams, and software/laboratory layout.
7. Support the daily operations of the digital design team(s).
8. Use technical expertise to advise team members.
9. Lead technical training in digital design as needed.
10. Take technical lead roles within projects.
11. Participate in defining specifications for new products with Sales & Marketing and customers.
12. Conduct annual appraisals of team members.
13. Assist in presenting projects and products to customers with Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications and Experience

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years of hands-on experience in chip and circuit architecture, RTL design, and verification.
• Strong background in digital electronics and signal processing.
• Comprehensive understanding of the digital ASIC design flow from RTL to GDSII.
• Experience managing digital ASIC projects and teams.
• Experience designing high-speed digital signal processing blocks with multi-power and multi-clock domain constraints.
• Solid knowledge of hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog) and scripting languages (TCL, Perl, Python).
• Experience in design and verification of digital functions for Mixed-Signal ASICs (e.g., A/D, D/A converters, RF transceivers) is a plus.
• Experience with Cadence or Synopsys RTL design flows is a plus.
• Good understanding of digital design tools.
• Creative, proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Negotiation, communication, and listening skills.
