A leading company in the semiconductor industry is seeking a Digital and Verification Designer to contribute to the development of Secure Element product devices. This role involves working collaboratively with various teams to develop verification methodologies and support product validation activities in a dynamic R&D environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in developing complex digital blocks or SoC embedding a microcontroller.
  • Specific knowledge of microelectronic devices and digital circuit design.
  • Experience with communication standards like ISO7816, ISO14443 is a plus.

Purpose

Join the R&D IDEMIA-StarChip group:

  • Working in a “start-up mindset team” as part of an R&D department of more than 500 people involved with project teams and technical experts for an international player in the semiconductor industry.
  • Develop, validate, and deliver Secure Element product devices (HW and SW) for the Security Market (SIM cards, Banking Payment, Biometric) to Mobile Operators, Financial Institutions, and Identity Business Units.
Job Summary

In our Digital, Integration, and Verification design team, as a Digital and Verification designer, you will participate in product feasibility studies and development for Smartcard secure element chips embedding an MCU, a co-processor, memories (NVM and RAMs), and analog / RF blocks. You will work closely with the analog / RF team, the implementation team, and the application team prior to product tapeout, and with the product/test engineering team after fabrication.

You will contribute to the verification methodology and test environment.

Key Missions

As part of the Digital, Integration, and Verification design team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing verification methodology, simulation environment, and test cases.
  • Participating in product feasibility studies and architecture design.
  • Understanding standards and system-level constraints such as performance, power consumption, and security.
  • Defining DFT solutions.
  • Supporting product validation and debugging activities in collaboration with software, quality, and test engineering teams.
  • Contributing to the improvement of technology and design methodologies.
  • Reviewing verification, validation, characterization, and qualification results within a quality process.
Profile & Other Information
  • Master’s Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent, with specific knowledge of microelectronic devices and digital circuit design.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing complex digital blocks or SoC embedding a microcontroller.
  • Knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL).
  • Familiarity with digital design tools: RTL simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, and equivalence checking (Synopsys and Cadence tools).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL and Python.
  • Knowledge of communication standards like ISO7816, ISO14443 is a plus.
  • Knowledge in cryptography (AES, TDES, PKI, RNG…) is a plus.
