Within the Group Underwriting Department, you will join the Senior Expert team for specialty lines, focusing on the following activities:
- Underwriting for the surety business line, with the objectives of maintaining profitability, reducing operational risks, improving workflows and reporting tools, and supporting underwriting activities for newly established surety entities.
- Overseeing arbitration for the Group's Surety Reinsurance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks associated with bonding facilities, including financial risks linked to the principal debtor/guarantee and related risks:
- Performance of the underlying contract or obligation subject to the surety.
- Type of bond to be issued (taxonomy).
- Beneficiary status.
- Duration of the commitment.
- Risk Determination: Establish the maximum risk over a specified period under a bonding facility, a single bond, or a risk participation arrangement behind an issuing bank. Define necessary collateral/security to support these risks.
- Decision Coordination: Collaborate with the Group Underwriting Department, leveraging and updating internal systems to inform and support decision-making.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Group's underwriting rules and procedures, and assist entities in analyzing their portfolios, adapting subscription policies, and conducting annual reviews of authorizations.
- Regulatory Alignment: Guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures as outlined by the Group and relevant authorities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Academic background in Economics, Insurance, or Finance.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Insurance, or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, with strong expertise in underwriting and managing surety risks.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and make sound decisions.
- Strong team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, dynamism, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Proven ability to develop, articulate, and execute strategies for surety lines.
- Strong capacity for dialogue with various stakeholders and leadership skills to guide regional and local teams.
- Fluency in French and English; knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.
