Assess the design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using defined Codes, Standards, specifications, procedures and knowledge and experience appropriate for complex / demanding situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice / solution and training to internal / external clients, research or development work within agreed parameters including budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees' work as requested.
- Assess / recommend the time / value of work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee / cost structure within the commercial aspect of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQA’s standard terms and conditions (commercial notice).
- Discuss / present the deliverable with internal / external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
- Contribute to internal / external client management, as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent within the relevant field of engineering. An additional higher tertiary degree Masters is preferable.
- Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application. Likely to have two years relevant working experience.
- Technical competencies to be addressed within authorisations framework. Will be unsupervised for some authorisations. May be supervised for others.
- In depth knowledge of design and construction of pressure equipment (installations) and the PED ( / / EU).
- Experienced in using and / or creating P&ID’s, equipment- and line lists.
- Preferably experienced in using Hazop studies and reports (IEC).
- Preferably experienced in case determination and relief calculations of Pressure Safety Valves (API and or EN).
- Preferably experienced in using Safety Instrumented Systems (IEC / IEC).
- Proficiency in English and French language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal).
